The body is drop-forged steel, which is what lets a C-clamp locking plier take real clamp load without the jaws spreading. Drop forging aligns the grain through the jaw and the lever, so the tool holds its setting under load instead of creeping open the way a cast or stamped body can. The trade runs from 45# carbon steel on the volume line to CR-V chrome vanadium on the premium line — same forging process, higher hardness where the budget allows.
The jaws are quenched hard so they grip without collapsing the tips, the spring is spring steel that keeps its return over repeated locking cycles, and the handle carries a quick-release paddle that frees the plier one-handed. The working idea stays simple: the C-shape opens over the workpiece, the adjustment screw sets the jaw gap, and the locking lever holds it there — a part clamped firmly without a second hand. Finishes run polished, blackened, or epoxy-sprayed, the last one favored by welders because it shrugs off spatter; the standard build is polished and anti-rust treated, with a PVC coated handle.
Two builds, and the difference matters on finished surfaces. A fixed head presses with the body itself — simple, direct, and the cheaper build. A swivel-pad head carries a free-moving steel pad on the end, so clamp load spreads into the workpiece instead of digging a single line into it. That is why the rotating head is the version overseas distributors and OEM programs move faster: woodworking, gluing and finished-assembly work cannot afford witness marks.
Load goes straight through the body — simple build, lower cost, the choice for weld tacking and rough fabrication where the surface does not matter.
A moving steel pad spreads the clamp and will not bruise the workpiece — the version woodworking, cabinetry and assembly channels ask for first.
Welding is the anchor job — holding two pieces in position while a tack is set, which is exactly what a locking C-clamp does better than a helper's hands. The same grip carries into woodworking edge-gluing and panel assembly, sheet-metal bending and holding, mold and die clamping on the bench, positioning for drilling and grinding, auto repair work, and general jig and fixture duty. Two numbers decide the right size: jaw opening, the widest gap the plier can take, and throat depth, how far the jaw reaches past the edge of the workpiece — a deep throat clamps the middle of a panel, a shallow one only grabs the rim.
The category runs 6, 9, 11, 14 and 18 inches overseas, and the 11-inch size is the one woodworkers and welders abroad keep on the bench — big enough for panel work, still one-handed. Our 275MM and 11-inch builds sit right in that core band.
Packing is 60 pieces per carton at both the 275MM and the 11-inch size, in export cartons. For retail shelves each piece can go into an OPP bag or a blister hang card, and inner boxes of 6 or 10 pieces fit hardware-store and tool-counter programs. Where the program is retail-facing, polybag, color box or blister packing can be arranged.
These pliers also bundle well — C-clamp, curved-jaw and long-nose locking pliers are commonly packed as a locking-plier set, which is a proven gift-set and counter-display format overseas. MOQ is 10 cartons per size. From 50+ cartons, custom packing and logo branding are on the table — logo can be etched onto the body rather than printed, which survives workshop use; full containers are palletized and stretch-wrapped.
275MM and 11 inches — the 11-inch size is the standard woodworking and welding size overseas.
Drop-forged steel, from 45# carbon steel on the standard build to CR-V chrome vanadium on the premium line, with quenched jaws.
Fixed heads cost less and suit weld tacking and rough work; swivel pad heads spread the clamp without bruising finished surfaces, which is why they sell better in woodworking and assembly channels.
Match jaw opening to the workpiece and throat depth to how far in you need to reach. For panel and cabinet work, the 11-inch build covers most benches.
PVC coated, with a quick-release paddle that opens the plier one-handed.
10 cartons per size, with OEM options from 50+ cartons — including etched logo branding.
