Fiberglass Measuring Tape

Why Fiberglass for Long Tapes

Fiberglass is the standard material for long open-length tapes for one practical reason: it does not rust. A steel tape left wet in a tool bag or a site box corrodes, and the first thing to go is the printed graduations. Fiberglass also does not conduct electricity, which is why utility and electrical crews keep one for work near live equipment.

The range runs 20M to 100M on a reel handle. The short lengths suit quick site checks and the household channel; the 50M and 100M reels are the land-measuring sizes, where a single pull covers a boundary or a building line without moving the reel.

Where Fiberglass Tapes Are Specified

The reel handle is what makes the long lengths usable: it takes up 100M in seconds and keeps the tape clean for the next pull. Land surveyors and site engineers use the long reels for setting out and boundary work; utilities and electrical contractors carry them for route measuring near live lines; grounds and sports departments use them for field marking and pitch layout.

• Site set-out & surveying — boundary and building-line measuring
• Utilities & electrical — route measuring near live equipment
• Grounds & sports — field and pitch marking
• Retail & household — the 20M and 30M sizes as shelf stock

Packing & Program Notes

Carton counts step down as the tape gets longer: 90 pieces at 20M, 60 at 30M, 40 at 50M and 20 at 100M — the longer the reel, the more space a carton holds. Export cartons are standard, and polybag, color box or blister packing can be arranged where the program is retail-facing.

MOQ is 10 cartons. From 50+ cartons the program opens to custom packing and your logo — relevant for buyers selling under their own tool or safety brand.
