PET strap is the high-tension option for unitizing loads: it holds tension without stretching back, which is what keeps a pallet tight through transit and handling. The 16 x 0.8MM size is the common medium-duty spec, sized for both hand tools and semi-automatic strapping machines.
Supplied on 20KG rolls — a roll weight that suits manual tooling and machine-fed lines alike, without the handling awkwardness of a heavier roll.
Strapping splits into two materials and the load decides which one. PP is the economy option that covers most carton work; PET is the heavy-duty replacement for steel strap. Both run through the same program, so a buyer can stock one material or both.
The value option: light and easy to heat-seal on manual and semi-automatic machines, in new or recycled material. Tensile is moderate and the band relaxes under sustained load, so it suits cartons, light industrial goods, e-commerce parcels and light pallet bundling. Widths 5/8/9/12/15/19MM at 0.4–0.7MM, on 10KG rolls.
The heavy-duty option: high tensile, low stretch-back and UV resistant, which is why it replaces steel strap on export pallets. For brick, stone, aluminum, pipe, board, paper rolls and hardware unit loads. Widths 9/12/16/19MM at 0.6–1.2MM, with 16MM and 19MM green as the mainstream SKUs, on 20KG rolls.
Rule of thumb: if the load moves by sea or the pallet has to stay tight for weeks, specify PET; if it is domestic carton work at the lowest landed cost, PP does the job.
The core job is palletizing: cartons and cases unitized into stable loads for storage and transit. Heavy industries push it further — brick and block bundling, export packing where container handling is rough, and recycling operations baling paper and plastics.
For importers the pairing logic is simple: strap sells to the same accounts as strapping tools and buckles, so it rounds out a packaging hardware program rather than standing alone.
Each roll is wrapped in moisture-proof film first, then multiple rolls go into export cartons; for full-container programs the rolls can go straight onto pallets under stretch wrap — fewer cartons, less handling, lower cost per kilo on high-volume orders. Standard supply is 20KG rolls, and custom packing can be arranged where a market expects a different roll weight or roll count per carton.
Logo printing on the band is available, so your brand travels with the load into the customer's warehouse. MOQ is 10 cartons. Custom packing and your logo are available from 50+ cartons — relevant for buyers bundling strap with their own strapping tool line.
